Andover’s 375th Committee Presents Andover Downtown Church Historic Walking Tour and Fanfare into Summer concert on June 18th 

      ANDOVER – As one of the closing activities of Andover’s year-long 375th anniversary celebration, a historic walking tour of downtown churches and a kick off summer concert will be held on Saturday, June 18th beginning at 1:30 PM in front of Christ Episcopal Church on Central Street.  

 Sponsored by the 375th Anniversary Committee, the tour will be conducted by 375t Committee members, Chairman Buzz Stapczynski and Tom Adams. The tour was conceived and written by Rich Padova, a member of the Committee, history and government professor at Northern Essex Community College and summer historical tour interpreter at Lawrence Heritage State Park.

 The tour will consist of outside stops with historic interpretation beginning at Christ Episcopal Church followed by St. Augustine’s, First Baptist, Free Christian, Unitarian Universalist and concluding at 3 PM at South Church on Central Street.  Those planning to participate in the walk are advised to wear comfortable shoes.  

 The public is invited at the culmination of the tour at 3 PM, to enjoy Fanfare into Summer concert which will conclude The Andover Downtown Church Historic Walking Tour, located at South Congregational Church (UCC), 41 Central Street.   

 The great Bozeman organ, along with brass quintet, timpani, piano, and South Church’s Musician-in-Residence Jessica McCormack, will play a wide variety of entertaining and engaging music by Renaissance composer Giovanni Gabrieli, Star Wars composer John Williams, jazz composer George Gershwin, orchestral composer Antonín Dvoràk, Indian-American Reena Esmail, among others.  Works for the entire ensemble will be performed, as well as shorter pieces designed to showcase each instrument.  Performers include John Charles Thomas (trumpet), Joseph Foley (trumpet), Michael Bellofatto (French horn), Brian Diehl (trombone), Michael S. Milnarik (tuba), Abe Finch (timpani & percussion), Cathy Meyer (organ & piano), and Jessica McCormack (soprano).
