The Town of Andover is working with a consultant to create a Wayfinding Signage Plan. The plan will introduce a simple, cohesive new signage system to gradually replace the existing town-owned signs, making downtown easier to navigate for pedestrians, drivers, cyclists, and all users. The project team has inventoried current signs, studied accessibility, sign placement, travel patterns, and related factors. Your input matters.This survey compiles your experience navigating downtown Andover and your preferences to help shape the future signs. The Town of Andover will use the results of the survey to develop and fabricate future signs.The survey is 18 questions and takes about 10 minutes. Thank you for participating!

Annual Town Meeting will begin on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 PM, and will be held at the J. Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts at Andover High School, 100 Shawsheen Road. The Meeting will continue on Wednesday, April 29 and Thursday, April 30 if needed. All registered voters in the Town of Andover are eligible and encouraged to participate and vote at Town Meeting.
Town Meeting is a distinct civic tradition that offers voters an opportunity to weigh in on issues of critical importance to the Town. Voters at this year's Annual Town Meeting will be asked to make decisions on a host of significant topics, including adoption of the FY 2027 budget, funding to support improvements at Andover High School, and investments in the next phase of the Chandler Road Recreation area.For more information and resources about Town Meeting, visit the Town Meeting page.
The final Town Meeting warrant was signed by the Select Board on Monday, March 30, and contains 39 articles.

All households will receive the Finance Committee Report by mail in advance of Annual Town Meeting. This report includes a summary of each warrant article, along with recommendations issued by the Finance Committee and other relevant boards and committees.
Voters are encouraged to review the report carefully and bring it with them to Town Meeting.
The deadline to register to vote at Annual Town Meeting is Saturday, April 18. Voters whose registration is already active are not required to take further action.
Voters may register in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, temporarily located at Old Town Hall, 20 Main Street. Residents may also register online by visiting www.RegisterToVoteMA.com. To complete the online registration, residents must have a valid driver’s license or identification card issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles, subject to the applicable deadline.
Mail-in voter registration forms or change of party forms must be postmarked by the applicable deadline.

Beginning the week of April 6 and continuing through July 10, the Town of Andover’s Department of Public Works will be conducting flushing of the water distribution system in the west area of Andover as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the system and improve the quality of drinking water provided to residents and businesses. Residents and businesses may temporarily experience discolored water or reduced water pressure. We thank you for your cooperation and patience as this work is completed.
Throughout the overall flushing period, the Town will provide more precise information about the areas expected to be impacted as work progresses. Please note that these areas are scheduled to be flushed on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Beginning Sunday, April 12, the Town of Andover’s general contractor will begin water main replacement work at the intersection of Lowell Street, Lovejoy Road, and Greenwood Road.
Night work construction will take place Sunday through Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. Work is anticipated to be completed on or before April 24. This work may require temporary changes to neighborhood traffic patterns, and drivers should expect possible detours and delays. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience to residents and motorists. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
Residents in the area may also experience temporary discolored water as a result of this work.

The Town Manager's Recommended Fiscal Year 2027 Budget & Financial Plan was released on Friday, February 6 and is available to view online.
Beginning in late March, Burnham Road will be closed in both directions at the railroad bridge as part of an MBTA bridge preservation and maintenance project. A detour will be in place for the duration of the closure.
The detour will route traffic around the closure using nearby local roads, including York Street, Haverhill Street, Enmore Street, and Dufton Road, to reconnect drivers on either side of Burnham Road. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes where possible.
This is an MBTA-led project involving the railroad bridge that carries the Haverhill Line over Burnham Road. According to project materials shared by the MBTA, the work will include bearing seat reconstruction, stone masonry repointing, and blast cleaning and painting of bridge steel. The purpose of the project is to preserve and maintain the bridge and extend its useful life.
The MBTA has indicated that construction is expected to begin at the end of March 2026 and continue for approximately eight months. Abutters have received notice about the project directly from the MBTA.

Beginning in June 2025, the second floor of the Andover Town Offices, located at 36 Bartlet Street, will be temporarily closed as part of a long-planned renovation project to improve the accessibility and functionality of public spaces within the building.
