With the forecast of heavy rain this evening, the Town of Andover Department of Public Works will be working to clear leaves and debris from some of the 7,400 catch basins around town.
Clogged drains and catch basins can keep water from flowing and quickly result in flood conditions on streets and properties. Being vigilant about clearing storm drains can greatly reduce the chance of flooding.
Residents and businesses can assist town crews by making sure storm drains and catch basins around their property are clear of leaves and debris. If you suspect a catch basin is clogged, please call the Department of Public Works at (978) 623-8700 or use our Public Works Request system at www.andoverma.gov/report
