The Town of Andover’s after-school care program, Kid Care, is looking for high energy, enthusiastic individuals to staff our expanding program.
The Andover Recreation Division is proud to offer our extended-day program for children in Grades K–5 at Bancroft Elementary School, West Elementary School, South Elementary School, High Plain Elementary School and Sanborn Elementary School. Andover Kid Care is a great solution for busy working families that combines fun and learning with the safety and convenience of a high-quality afterschool program right inside kid’s school.
The Kid Care Program runs Monday-Friday, 3:15-6:00 PM . We invite you to consider working as few as 2 or all 5 days with us!
We are currently hiring for the following positions:
Site Director (Bancroft)
$27-$32/HR
Reports to Director of Recreation
Must be 21 years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Development of programming suited to the need to the age children being served
- Staff development
- Program licensing and paperwork maintenance
- Periodic evaluation of the program
- Maintain the cleaning and upkeep of the facility
- Maintain an orderly physical environment and monitoring safety situations at all times
- Plan and conduct daily activities for the children in the program that will contribute to the their care, growth and development
- Keep accurate records for the children and the program
- Develop and maintain all policies and procedures as required by the EEC and the Recreation Department
- Follow licensing procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children at all times
- Conduct staff meetings and make sure staff is meeting their required annual training
- Perform necessary safety drills on a regular basis
- Complete all EEC required trainings
Assistant Director
$21-$26/HR
Reports to After-School Site Director(s)
Must be 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
- Aid Director(s) in staff development
- Aid Director(s) in the development of programming suited to the need of the children being served
- Maintain the cleaning of the facility
- Plan and conduct activities that will contribute to the growth and development of participants
- Maintain an orderly physical environment and provide a safe environment for the children
- Review daily attendance
- Be present in the program and with children at all times unless coverage has been arranged
- Know emergency policies and behaviors
- Attend and take minutes at staff meetings
- Maintain a discipline policy and log and report any incidences to the Program Director(s)
- Maintain open communication with parents
- Assist in the performance of evacuation drills & other safety drills
- Share ideas with Program Director that will improve the program
- Complete all EEC required trainings
Group Leader (All 5 Schools)
$17.25-$20/ HR
Reports to After-School Site Director(s)
Must be 16 years of age or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
- Responsible for appropriate lesson planning and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum for students
- Participate in the ongoing development of age appropriate curriculum, make revisions as needed, and develop new units of study as needed
- Maintain the physical environment so that it is conducive to optimal learning opportunities for children
- Assume responsibility for classroom materials and equipment, ensuring they are clean, safe, and stored properly
- Assess each student's growth, development, and performance
- Contribute to the written progress reports twice per year
- Maintain a cooperative working relationship with parents and coworkers
- Foster open communication, decision making, problem solving channels between parents, faculty and administration
- Participate in team meetings to discuss needs of individual students, curriculum planning, and other classroom issues, as needed
- Complete all EEC required trainings
Assistant Group Leader: (All 5 Schools)
$13.50-16.25/ HR
Reports to After-School Director(s) and/or Assistant Director of Program
Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must work at all times under the direct supervision of the Director(s), Assistant Director or Group Leader
- Be present in the program and with children at all times
- Maintain an orderly physical environment and monitoring safety situations at all times
- Conduct activities that will contribute to the growth and development of participants
- Assist Group Leaders and Program Site Director(s) & Assistant Director in various duties
- Complete all EEC required training
