From July, 2022, through June, 2023, the Towns of Andover and North Andover commissioned the development of a Community Health Assessment (CHA), and then the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Health Resources in Action (HRiA) performed the work for the communities. The CHA looked at community data, the results of a community survey, and the results of several stake-holder focus groups. The resulting information then informed the development of the CHIP, which will serve as a blueprint for public health services in the coming years. Both communities have similar results, and will look to develop response plans together.
There are three focus areas addressed in the CHIP: Mental Health Across the Lifespan; Affordable Housing; and Diversity, Equity, and Sense of Community. The links here will bring you to documents developed as guidelines as we move forward with addressing these important public health issues. We request that the public review the CHIP specifically, and provide feedback on the proposed plan. Will the plan address the concerns raised? Are they being approached in a logical order, or should something be rearranged? Are there other issues that the Board of Health should look into?
Information on the public forums will be announced soon, but comments are welcome via email; send them to CDPHealth@andoverma.us
