Alex was first elected to the Andover Select Board in March of 2004. He is currently a member of Massachusetts Municipal Association's (MMA) Policy Committee on Personal and Labor Relations. Alex is a past member of the Massachusetts Selectmen's Association (MSA) Executive Committee and was the MSA representative for Essex and Middlesex Counties. He also previously served as a member of the MMA's Board of Directors and the Governor's Local Government Advisory Commission. Alex's community service includes volunteering for Boy Scouts, coaching Andover Youth Sports, a member of The Knights of Columbus and Service Club of Andover. Ann and Alex live on Alison Way and have four children.
