The Andover High School (AHS) improvement project aims to enhance the existing AHS facility and address its most significant deficiencies. An appropriation of $500,000 was approved at a Special Town Meeting in November 2023 to fund the design of this renovation project.
Following the 2023 Special Town Meeting, a collaborative process involving the School Committee and the Permanent Town Building Advisory Committee (PTBAC) was initiated to develop a scope of work for design services. The committees worked together to develop the request for qualifications for design services firms. In September, Colliers Project Leaders was selected to serve as the Town’s owner’s project manager (OPM). TBA Architects was subsequently selected to service as the project architect.
Key goals of the project that are being explored through the design phase include addressing overcrowding, improving space utilization, updating furniture, replacing outdated mechanical systems, enhancing building security, and making site improvements.
The PTBAC, in collaboration with the School Committee and other stakeholders, is committed to ensuring that the Andover High School improvement project reflects the priorities of the community. Community input is crucial in shaping the future of this important project.
