Healthy Communities Tobacco Awareness Program

Andover administers a regional tobacco control program fully funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health through a contract with the Massachusetts Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program.  The primary goals of the program are to 1) prevent youth initiation of tobacco use, 2) create incentives for all to break nicotine addiction (visit here for free quit info), and 3) reduce exposure to secondhand smoke and vapor.

Organized as a collaborative, 18 communities work together to develop local regulations and enforce state regulations to attain these goals.   The municipalities working alongside Andover are: Amesbury, Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Haverhill, Lynnfield, Methuen, Middleton, Newbury, Newburyport, North Andover, North Reading, Rowley, Salisbury, Tewksbury, Topsfield, and Westford.
